What Is Infant Osteopathy
Infant osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach that aims to support your baby's comfort, movement, and development. During pregnancy and birth, babies can experience physical stresses that may contribute to tension throughout the body. While many babies adapt well on their own, some may benefit from additional support.
Using gentle manual techniques, an osteopath assesses how your baby's body is moving and functioning as a whole. Treatment focuses on improving mobility, reducing areas of tension, and supporting the body's natural ability to adapt and develop.
Parents commonly seek osteopathic care for concerns such as feeding difficulties, head preference, torticollis, flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly), reflux, colic, unsettled behaviour, and tension following birth. Every baby is unique, and treatment is tailored to their individual needs.
Osteopathic treatment for infants is extremely gentle and designed specifically for a baby's developing body. Sessions also provide an opportunity to discuss your baby's birth history, feeding, sleep, development, and any concerns you may have as a parent.
At Kyah Family Health Studio, we take a family-centred approach to care, working alongside parents and other healthcare providers to help your baby thrive during the important early stages of life.
